Looking Like a Chair

As I sat down on a spare desk chair in my boss's office this morning for a conference call, I noticed that I matched the chair I was sitting on. hmmm. I'm not quite sure what to think about that.

What I Wore While Matching the Office Furniture:

  • short sleeve blouse (Old Navy)
  • tweed pencil skirt (thrifted, Goodwill) *
  • paisley silk scarf (thrifted, Goodwill)
  • suede heels (Quipid)
  • leather purse (thrifted, St. Vincent de Paul)
  • bangle (Lane Bryant)
  • earrings (street vendor in Austin)
  • stone necklace (hand-me-down from a friend)
  • hair - messy side bun w/ braid (um...from watching the finale of Survivor. LOVED Sierra's hair this way)

* I think this needs to be shortened about 5 inches to just above my knee so that it isn't quite so matronly. I like clothing that looks like it is from the 50s or 60s, not clothing that makes me look 50 or 60.

What I am Eating for Breakfast & Lunch All Week:

I made a bunch of McMuffins and froze them. They are about 250 calories each, plus the apple.
  • 100 calorie Thomas english muffin
  • 1 slice bacon
  • 1 egg
  • 1 slice non-fate american cheese
  • 1 gala apple
I'm using up random veggies from the fridge this week, so each day I have different veggies. Today was cauliflower, but I also made them with carrots, zucchini, and squash. Lunch is about 300 calories.
  • buddig tukey sandwich
  • 1 small local peach
  • 1 c. raw veggies
  • string cheese

Today's Trial Bar:

Odwalla Chewy Nut Bar - Sweet & Salty Almond. 220 calories. Very full of almonds, and very stiff (my jaw hurt by the time I was done eating it). I was really sad to find that it was not salty at all. I really like a good sweet and salty combo. On the plus side, it wasn't overly sweet either.

What I Ate While Not Having a Stove (Crock Pot!):

  • shredded taco chicken on a baked potato, with avocado, corn, non-fat sour cream, and 2% cheddar
  • side salad with tomatoes, carrots, zucchini, and squash
  • 3 oz white wine

Total for the Day: 1624 calories, 8 glasses of water, no exercise

i love this outfit! love the color combo. excellent accessories too.

sorry to hear that Biscuit got attacked by the window. I think Clementine THOUGHT she was being attacked last night when my leg bumped her ever so slightly and she jolted awake and bounced off into the darkness of the house.

Obviously yous boss has very nice furniture ;)

Great outfit! I *love* blue. The skirt would definitely look great a little shorter- you always look great in skirts like that.

A - you totally don't look 50 or 60, but I do agree the hem line could be shorter and be a little cuter.

b - um yumm!! those T-McEgg Muffins look delicious!

"I like clothing that looks like it is from the 50s or 60s, not clothing that makes me look 50 or 60." - that made me laugh out loud!

I really like this outfit - not matronly at all. I think you're right - the skirt would be even cuter a bit shorter.

Great outfit! I love how the purse picks up the green from the scarf. Subtle and classy. :)

Beth - thanks! The dinner was super delish!

eednic - Cats startle so easily, don't they? It's supposed to be a good thing.

Thanks, Jess. I wish I could say that my boss does have nice office furniture. Sadly that is not the case.

Stacy - oh you know those homemade McMuffins were delish! I can honestly say that I am enjoying them this week as much as if they were from McDonalds, but they are cheaper and WAY lower in calories.

Goober - thanks! If I can find my sewing kit, I have a whole pile of skirts that need to be hemmed. Sometimes I wish I wasn't so lazy. I'd get a lot more done!

Brooke - you are too sweet. Thanks for noticing!

Yup, the skirt is too long and makes your bottom half look boxy. You've got great gams, show 'em!

See, now that baked potato? THAT looks yummy!
