Unplanned Day At Work

Just as yesterday I didn't plan on being at home, today I was supposed to be at home but they called me in to work. Ah the life of a contract employee. I'm just happy to be employed in this economy. So after 10 glorious hours of sleep, I trundled off to work first thing this morning.

What I Wore While Sitting At My Desk:

  • paisley skirt (Anne Klein)
  • blue short sleeve blouse (Old Navy)
  • vest (Rena Rowan, thrifted new Goodwill)
  • rafia mules (Bandalino)
  • cognac purse (thrifted, Genesis)
  • wooden bangle (thrifted, Goodwill)
  • button ring (Etsy Dallas, free gift)
  • brass earrings (Target)
  • brass reversible necklace (Target)

What I Ate While Staring At A Box of Cookies:

Someone delivered a box of cookies this morning and I stared at all day. I am only human and I didn't have breakfast packed, so....
  • breakfast - 3 snickerdoodles
  • lunch - gyro & potatoes (Rand joined me downtown for lunch and he picked)
  • dinner - chicken panang (I only ate about 1/2 and I had to tone it down with lite coconut milk b/c I'm a spice wimp)

Total for the Day: 1819 calories, 6 glasses of water, no exercise

Wait. How is it possible that I ate cookies for breakfast, gyros for lunch, and take-out for dinner but still managed to hit my calories???

Ah, you're a contractor too?
It definitely makes me grateful every week to receive a paycheck and have a job, even if it's only for a certain period of time.

I love your skirt (cute paisley print!) and the orange bag really works well with what you're wearing. Again, a pop of color that just wouldn't have occurred to me to try!

Okay, you're totally looking skinnier. I can really tell in your photos from when to you started to now.

This is a nice color combo on you and I'm loving the jewelry. Since someone else is already stealing your clothes, I'm going to steal your jewelry okay? =)

I get busy for a few weeks, come back to find you're disappearing from my screen! Congrats on the weight loss. All your yummy foods are telling me that a change of eating habits might not be so boring!

I love your shoes, necklace, bag and well, the whole outfit really. I wish I could find nice shoes like that for my big feet! (And with a lower heel)

Kari - Yep. I do contract legal work for various firms in Dallas ever since my firm had massive lay-offs. It's not ideal, but it's a paycheck!

eednic - you crack me up.

Stacy - Since you are my sister, you know that you could borrow anything I have, although it's a pretty long drive just to borrow some jewelry. LOL

Deborah-Lee - I actually find I am eating a wider variety of meals now than I was before I started trying to be healthy. It's no longer just pizza, burgers, and fried fried fried.

Diana - thanks! It really does look orange, doesn't it? I think of it as a cognac color, but when you put it with the right things, it just turns up the volume on the orange. :)
