Sher from Fashion After Forty gave me this lovely award. Thanks, Sher! I want to pass it along to Hillary from byHillary because she has such a nice vintage style that I think is perfect for this award.
Rand's Daily Outfit Assessment: "You look Amish." This sparked a mini disagreement about whether this was true. So he googled it, came back to the closet and said that he was wrong. Then when I got to work, I googled it, and I see what he was talking about. It's not really Amish looking, but I think the length and the white skirt sticking out the bottom of the dress is a little reminiscent of Amish clothing.
What I Wore While Not (?) Looking Amish:
- green dress (Target)
- white dress (thrifted Goodwill)
- aqua peep toe heels (via Nordstrom)
- satin scarf (no clue)
- skinny black belt (Target)
- bee earrings (Love Erin Designs)
What I Ate After Going to the Grocery Store Twice Today:
- breakfast: cheesy eggs, Alternative bagel, way too ripe for Tina banana
- lunch: buddig on sandwich thins, spinach, yellow and red grape toms, cantaloupe
- snack: yogurt, Cliff Z bar, apple
- dinner: Pork with Figs & Balsamic Vinegar, roll, roasted cauliflower
- dessert: skinny cow ice cream
What I Did While Wish I Had on Shorts:
I walked 1.25 miles at work today.
Total for the Day: 27 points*, 20 minutes of walking

That cauliflower looks amazing. You do not look Amish, the layers totally make the outfit and I love it. I also still love Rand's assesments.
me an award? I have never had an award ever!!! thank you so much. Ok girl I have that same dress! Mine is grey though. A few friends have it and I thinks it darn near one of the most versatile cuts ever. I never thought of adding a layer under it!
I love your neck scarf too. Lordy the second its under 75 I am wearing one! (its about 95 today and in the city 95 is like 145. GAH)
Again thank you I really appreciate it. Sorry i am not a big commenter I admit to being lazy with my RSS with the click through at times. eeep.
You always look so pretty in your outfits. You're a real inspiration for me to make more of an effort. And I love your aqua peep toe heels with todays outfit.
I am layer challenged and this is superb!
The dress over the white dress is fab!!!
You look so pretty :)
I loathe overripe bananas too. Yuck. As soon as they get spotty, I don't want 'em.
You look great in this greeny colour! I love the scarf!
Amish, Shmamish....I love these two dresses layered together. Looks great!
Erin - thanks! The cauliflower was a new veggie for us to roast and I thought it was delish. Although I have yet to meet a veggie I don't like roasted.
Hillary - yes you an award! You rock! And no worries about comments. I have plenty of days where all I do is cruise through with no time to comment on anyone's blog. I would love to see your take on this dress. I'm pretty sure I've gone through your entire archive and I don't remember it. So you may have to pull it out and dazzle me with your style soon.
Anon - thanks so much!
Lorena - I've gotten a lot more daring with layers. Some times it works and sometimes I look like a bag lady. But by taking risks I learn what works on me. Be brave!
Sheila - seriously, I'm not even sure I like them when they are fully yellow. I need a little tinge of green around the stem at the least. And everyone thinks I am crazy. It's good to kow I'm not the only one who hates them with spots.
Beth - Shmamish indeed! Thanks!
well I wore it a few weeks ago here

I have worn it more than that but these I found quickly
My friends Anna and Teresa have it in the tealy color you have it in.
Hillary -
Ok Seriously, how did I not see all those? Thanks so much! You are giving me ideas. I esp love the last link you sent with the red belt and those fab patterened tights. I think my calves are too big to wear tights like that, but I've been wrong before when I thought I was Too Big To Wear That, so I think I'll have to give it a try when the weater cools off again...in 3 months. Ugh.
No way do you look Amish with that wonderful scarf!
I love that dress on you, but I finally gave up on making it work on myself. It poofs out in odd places and just isn't right on me. Too bad, because the color is wonderful.
Kari - thanks! It is a little bit of a poofy dress.
