We Can Do It!

Rand's Daily Outfit Assessment: "You look like the '40s. Have a good day at work, Rosie." As in Rosie the Riveter. hehe. The colors aren't in the right places, but they are all there - polka dot head scarf and all. So I salute Rosie and her message. We can do it!

What I Wore While NOT Riveting:

  • navy wool pencil skirt (thrifted, Goodwill)
  • yellow blouse (thrifted, Goodwill)
  • polka dot scarf (thrifted, Goodwill)
  • red croc heels (ann marino)
  • faux pearl earrings and necklace (?)

What I Ate That Totally Did Not Satisfy the Craving I Thought I Had:

  • breakfast: I'm gonna call this Barley Pumpkin Sludge. Doesn't that sound yummy? I just threw some random stuff in the crockpot to made a breakfast porridge. It was barley, quinoa, canned pumpkin, pumpkin pie spices, fat free half and half, and chopped apple. It's not bad.
  • lunch: turkey sandwich, watermelon, coleslaw
  • snack: Cliff Z bar, string cheese
  • dinner: pesto pizza. SIGH. Wanted it. Had to have it. Rand tried to talk me out of it. And totally didn't satisfy the craving I thought I had.

Exercise:

A friend is working in my building this week. So we agreed to meet twice a day to take a quick 1/2 mile walk around the block.

Total for the day: 40 points, 1/2 mile walk

Cute outfit. Love the hair scarf...going to have to try that! I walk with work buddies twice a day too....it's great to get away from the computer and get some fresh air. It's hard to lose weight, but we can do it. I've lost 70 lbs since last Oct and I've still got some to go....so worth it!

I just read on either Lucky's website or InStyle's that the 40s are "in" this fall....so you are ahead of your time!

Great outfit!

Have you tried making your own pizzas with whole wheat tortillas? Just put your toppings on (lightly) and grill it for a few minutes. Yummy!

By the way, take a look at the calorie/fat count on a jar of pesto next time you're at the grocery store - you'll be boggled, guaranteed.

Love that forties vibe! So cute and fun. And incidentally, you're meeting the academichic girls' color triad challenge with red, yellow, and navy. :)

Hillary - thanks! There's nothing like showing the world that when you flex there's no muscle there. But I'll sacrifice my dignity for a good shot. ha!

Cindy - thanks for the encouragement. That's really impressive that you have lost 70 pounds. That's about how much more I would like to lose in an ideal world. But I'll settle for another 30-40.

Beth - I miss Lucky. I gave up my subscription due to monetary limitations. But it's good to know I am ahead of the curve. I love 40s fashion!

Kimberly - thanks! Isn't is hilaraious?

Sheila - thanks for the suggestion. We do make a healthy pizza too, but I've never tried it with a tortilla. Oh and don't get me started on pesto. It looks so innocent and is so evil.

Erin - ha! me too. It makes me sad on the days that all he says is "you look nice."

Lorena - now there's an idea! Come out all you riveters!

Milly - thanks! It's one of the few times that I have felt like I successfully pulled this style of scarf off. I usually fuss with it all day.

Brooke - thanks! i had no idea. Well they really know what they are talking about so I guess I did something right.
