DIY Kind of Day

Monday was a DIY kind of day. First, I did three different dye baths: tan, grey, and hunter green. This -----> is my tan dye job. Did you know that if you dye things one at a time in the same dye bath, the color changes? For example, when I used the grey dye bath, I first dyed a slip and then a cami. They both started as the same color and fabric. But the slip was so much darker than the cami. It was a steel grey and the cami was a pale green grey. The same thing happened with my tan and green baths too. It's like each item you dye uses up the dye in the water, leaving just the liquid behind.

Anway, since I spent all day dyeing clothes and sewing, I looked like a bum, so no photos. I did stay fully on track foodwise, though. So I'll post those. I need some reinforcement to keep me motivated.

What I Ate While Dyeing Everything I Own:

2009-10-26 food

  • breakfast: cheesy egg, alternative bagel, two cuties, hot tea
  • lunch: chicken buddig sandwich with cheese, apple, brocolli slaw
  • snack: 2 no pudge brownies, 1 oz goat cheese
  • dinner: faux chicken parm, spaghetti squash, ghetto garlic stick

Total for the Day: no exercise (I sprained my ankle last Friday), 26 points

Oh no, your poor ankle! But good for you for getting back to tracking, Tina! If I could add anything to your food, it would be MORE! More veggies, more fruit. I couldn't survive on what you eat. Remember, if it's a whole, unprocessed food, you can't go wrong. :)

I hope your ankle feels better - that stinks!

No Pudge brownies are the best.

I do dye my hair (and I don't mind you asking at all!) I use Clairol semi-permanent Herbal Essences dye in Cinnaberry, which I believe is color #20. But my natural hair color is a bit of a lighter shade of brown than yours, so you may not have *quite* as much of the lighter red color show through, or you may want to leave it on for longer. Good luck & I can't wait to see it!

Can't wait to see all the dyed clothing!

Sheila - thanks! Yes, more veggies and more fruit! I usually try to eat fruit at breakfast, lunch, and my snack and then veggies at lunch and dinner.

Kari - thanks! I am sitting here with wet hair after just dying it. I went back to an old favorite for me: Herbal Essences Spiced Tea. I hope it looks good when it dries.

BAM - yeah the hotdog garlic bread is pretty funny looking, but it really tastes good!
