When I came home from work yesterday (in my schoolteacher outfit) the front porch lights were out. I thought that was odd and then I noticed that they inside lights were off too. Uh oh. Apparantly I had all the utilities transferred to the new house EXCEPT THE ELECTRICITY. doh! Even after giving them my "poor me. I'm cold and alone in this scary dark house." routine, they couldn't get it turned on that night. So when I woke up this morning, I got dressed and ready for work by candlelight. Do you know how hard it is to put on blush in the dark?? Plus it was only 50 degrees inside the house, so I was freezing, so I just kept adding more and more layers to my outfits. Originally I was not planning on wearing the cardi over the red sweater. Oh well, a cold girl has to do what a cold girl has to do.
What I Wore While It Was Dark & Cold:- brown tweed skirt (Lane Bryant)
- red sweater (Ann Taylor via Goodwill)
- camel cardi (charity shop)
- belt (via Goodwill)
- brown patterened tights (Target)
- brown wedge boots (Cloudwalkers via Avenue)
- brown/red stone necklace (Ashley Stewart)
BTW, this picture was taken in the dark. I was hoping you would be able to tell that it was dark, but of course the flash really blew it out. So enjoy my fine acting skills where I show you that I was cold and scared of the dark. ha!

not bad for getting ready in the dark! I truly enjoy seeing your post, you do have the best pictures!
PS: GREAT outfit!
Great colors! I recently found your blog and really enjoy it! Your meal postings have inspired me to eat healthier!
a brown tweed skirt like that is such a classic! But I may be biased as I have a very similar one form Talbots.
That's a great outfit, dark or not! :) Wonderful fall colors (ha, when do I ever not like the colors you wear?). I dig the tweed skirt too.
Love the outfit and that belt is sooo cute! :)
Hand that girl the Oscar! Ha! Sorry to hear about your troubles - hope it was resolved quickly. You look great - that cranberry is a good colour on you.
I like the cardigan over the sweater.
Hope you have electricity now.
Honeybunches - thanks! I get bored taking the same pictures every day so every once in awhile I try to do something silly. I wish I was as creative as Kasmira. Or looked as good in silly poses as she does.
SewingStacy - thanks! I'm going to check out your blog in a sec. I see that we are both from Iowa (well I was born there anyway). What city do you live in?
Dr. Da - I agree. I adore tweed. It's got nice texture and always makes me feel more fashionable.
Brooke - You and I have embraced color, that's for sure. Thanks!
Bargainista - thanks!
Sheila - thanks! The power was back on when I came home from work the next day, so 24 hrs without electricity wasn't too bad. I'd rather it happen in the winter than in the summer. No A/C would kill me. I would be one very cranky Tina.
nurmisur - thanks! Thankfully we only went without elec for a short time. And now I know where my candles are.
