I try to frontload my work week, so that I work as many hours as possible Monday through Thursday. That way I can take off early on Friday. This really comes in handy for all those errands that need to be run to places that are only open bankers' hours.
Ikea doesn't exactly close early, but it's long drive to get there and you have to fight lots of traffic. So I decided to leave work at about 2 and head that way. Rand and I were looking for some floating shelves for our new kitchen. Going to Ikea requires comfy shoes and clothing that prevents chub rub. So I give you my Friday work-to-Ikea switcheroo. I think it would have looked a little better with shoes that weren't black, but these are my go-to shoes for lots of walking.
What I Wore Traipsing Through Ikea:
- pink floral dress (Target)
- white cardi (Target)
- flower brooch (via Goodwill)
- orange wooden necklace (via Goodwill)
- green suede heels (Two Lips, I think)
- striped belt (borrowed from Kimberly)
- leggings (Avenue)
- flip flops (Crocs)
- breakfast: mango, cheesy egg
- lunch: avocado, turkey, and cabbage wrap with mango and pretzels
- snack: plum, cheese stick, SoyJoy
- dinner: chicken & sausage gumbo, squash and zucchini

Gorgeous! I love it! That dress is fantastic and I'm in love with those green shoes!
Love that dress.
Your food is making me hungry...
One truly does have to make fashion concessions when doing hardcore shopping. And by hardcore, I mean walking for more than two miles cumulatively to get all the things you're looking for.
Yeah, Ikea definitely requires comfort shoes! (And a very roomy car.)
I love the pretty pink dress and the way you transformed it. I'm especially partial to the pattern-mixing with the belt and the beautiful pumps in your first outfit.
