$5 Manolos!!!

Forgive the really crappy photo, but these ----------> are two pairs of Manolo Blahniks that I purchased at Goodwill for $5 each! The pair on the left is dark brown with a pointed toe and stiletto heel. The pair on the left is black with a box toe and a thicker heel.

I don't know what was going on at this Goodwill, but they had tons of really nice, high end shoes today. I'm pretty sure these were donated by the same person, even though they are two different sizes, b/c they both fit exactly the same way. How do I get this person to donate more $400 shoes??

What I Wore While Being Thankful That Rich People Donate to Goodwill:

  • grey/blue dot shirt (Mossimo)
  • grey faux wrap, shortened by me (Lane Bryant, thrifted Goodwill)
  • black heels (Manolo Blahnik, thrifted Goodwill)
  • mother of pearl earrings (Target)
  • aqua oval necklace (via Ross)

What I Ate After Refusing to Go to the Store:

We just couldn't bring ourselves to go to the grocery store in the storm that was passing through Dallas, so we improvised with the few ingredients we still have in the house. Rand cooked up breakfast and I cooked the apples.
  • 2 slices low-cal toast
  • 2 slices real bacon
  • 2 eggs (from Mom's chickens)
  • 1 cooked apple with raisins and sliced almonds
  • dessert - black bean brownies
Total for the Day: 1808 calories, 4 glasses of water, no exercise

That is quite a score! And I wouldn't care if they were comfortable, they're Manolos! :)

Jess - that's the Goodwill that I go to the most often since it's on my way home from work, but it's my least favorite. I got the shoes at the one on Westmoreland, just off of 30. It's one of the huge stores. I higly recommend it, if you haven't been there.

Ally - I know! I was amazed. And when I had to go to the dressing room, I had to leave them in my cart. I was afraid someone was going to snag them, so I tried on everything super-fast! LOL.

Hillary - yeah, it's pretty impressive. It's been non-stop all night and is still raging this morning.

Kari - They are SUPER high, and the right shoe (in both pairs) is a tiny bit big. Other than that, they are fine. I'm going to put an insert in the right shoe to fill it in. After that, I'm thinking they'll be perfect.

Joanna - that was my first thought too!

TexNYQueen - thanks, I will!

JEALOUS - that is the only way to describe what I am feeling right now. Manolos - how fantastic! Lookin' good too, lady!

What a steal!! And how I love breakfast for dinner!

Tina said...

Lydia - Ill keep that in mind ;)

eednic - thanks! It was really quite hideous before I hemmed it. One of those mid-calf, boxy monstrosities. I wasn't sure how it would look after I hemmed it, and I was fairly pleased.

Diana - I wish they were all like that. It's really hit or miss. Recently none of the stores near me have been carrying skirts. At all. WTF is that all about? Even the workers are confused by it.

Kimberly - if it makes you feel any better, I am really jealous of all the great jewelry you found recently. I can't wait to see it in you Etsy shop.

Beth - you know what's even better than breakfast for dinner? When Rand is one who figures out we have the stuff to cook it (out of our very empty fridge)and then cooks it for you. It was great!

I am totally going to go check out that Goodwill! Thanks for the scoop. I was less than impressed with the clothing section of the G'ville Goodwill, but I did score about 10 brand new belts and a sweet pair of barely Etienne Aigner lace up heeled oxfords there last week, so I guess I can't rag it too much. ;-)

Jess - I feel the same way about the Greenville Goodwill, but I actuall buy stuff there all the time, so I guess you never can tell.

Wow, that is an amazing deal! I never find shoes that cheap that are name brands!

Your food looks yummy! Your blog always makes me so hungry.

Sheila - I felt very lucky. Usually all the shoes at the Goodwills in my area are Target shoes.
