What kind of work schedule do you keep?
What I Wore While Slogging Through a Long Monday:
- black suit (Lane Bryant)
- teal grecian crepe tank (Lane Bryant via Thrift Town)
- patterned platform pumps (hand-me-down)
- wooden bangle (Lane Bryant)
- red asian necklace (via Goodwill)
- red earrings (Lane Bryant)
- button ring (Etsy Bash)
I've mentioned it on more than one occassion; I suffer from Free-food-itis. If it's free food, I want it. It doesn't matter if it tastes bad, if I already have food, or even if I am already full. Seriously, I don't like chocolate cake, but when someone brings one to the office, I have a slice. sigh. Well, the Powers That Be brought in lunch today from Jason's Deli. I almost grabbed a wrap from the sandwich tray, but I know better than to be fooled into thinking that stuff is okay to eat. Jason's makes good food, but if I can't control the type of bread, the amount of meat, or even the condiments, it's way too easy to tell myself that "it's just a turkey sandwich" even though it's a 700 calorie turkey sandwich.
I am happy to say, I grabbed some salad (no dressing) and some fruit (no dipping sauce) and then had my turkey hotdogs that I had brought with me. And when my brain told me "there's still free food over there" I went back and got more salad and fruit rather than giving in to the giant bag of potato chips. Yay!
- breakfast: healthy bagel sandwich, small orange, 1/2 Monster
- lunch: salad, mixed fruit, 2 turkey dogs with high fiber buns, more salad, pickles
- snack: Clif Z bar, lite yogurt, banana (way too ripe for me. yuck)
- dinner: tomato and arugula pizza on a Flatout wrap, salad, grape flavored Crystal Lite in a wine glass for fun *
- dessert: 7 almonds (1 pt), diet margarita (2 points)
* That's one of my kitties, Cracker, checking out the pizza.
Total for the Day: 27 points**
** I'm supposed to eat at least 29/day, so this is too low. I thought that I had eaten 29 when I went to bed, but when I added things up the next morning I saw that I miscalculated. Darn it. I would have had another diet margarita. Or a real glass of wine with dinner.

I like the red and turqouise!
Also those shoes = DAMN.
You look fabulous - those shoes are killer!
Your food choices are excellent - you fooled me (hey, those are hot dogs! that's wine!). :-P
I have a hard time with free food too. I try to stay away from it altogether.
I wish I could work 4 10 hour days and have a 3 day weekend! But, I am a teacher so I must work when the kids are there (and keep working after the kids leave). I usually work from 7 to 4 5 days a week. And come on the weekends when I need to - but I am trying not to do that.
I love putting plain drinks in fancy glasses - it makes them taste so much better!!
Love the red jewelry with the blue top. Cute cat!! 3-day weekends are the best.
I love the shoes!! My mom just started a job that she works 4-10 hour days and I am super jealous. Some how I ended up with a job in which I work 9 hrs 5 days a week plus my blackberry is goes off till around 10 pm or so and weekend. But I love it and that is worth a lot!
Great colors all around, T. . . even the dinnerware! Makes a lovely presentation.
We work a 9/80 schedule that gives us the every other Friday off. I love it!!

Those shoes!! I really like the color combinations you've got with this outfit. Cute kitty!
Oh, kitty, kitty, kitty!
I understand the freefooditis. I order a lot of catering for work events and try to always include healthy options so that I can indulge my own freefooditis while keeping the calories low and the nutrition high.
Those shoes are to die for Tina! I love this whole look. :)
Brooke - thanks!
Sheila - thanks! Yeah the shoes are killer - in multple ways. They look killer and they kill my feet!
Sarah - I have heard of some school districts trying to go to 4 day weeks to save on costs, but then it causes so many problems with parents who work 5 day weeks and have to find child care. We just need to whole country to go to a 4 day week!!
gina - thanks!
Kimberly - I no longer have a work blackberry, but when I did I made a point to turn it off at night b/c I wanted to set boundaries. But it was very difficult to do.
Jean - thanks! I love these plates. Sadly we don't use them very much b/c they are so big that portion countrol is impossible. I got a smaller set of dished from Goodwill to use most days.
AZGypsie - I've heard of people doing the 9/80 thing and it seems to be a big hit across the board.
LaShaune - Wow! Thanks!
BBM - ha! I had pre-wedding something. That's for sure!
Didi - thanks!
Lesa - thanks! I took my color inspiration from Sheila, who always looks so fab.
EvaNadine - thanks! They're awfully high though.
pink pumpkin - that's great! I really think everyone should do that. Wouldn't it be wonderful?
Askew to You - thanks! That's my "sensitive" kitty. She scares so easily.
Kasmira - Smart! I need to see if I can be in charge of the ordering of food.
