Review: Fashion to Figure Ponte Knit Dress

A lot of you had some really lovely things to say when I posted a picture of me wearing this Fashion To Figure dress over the weekend. And I’m glad that you liked it because I did too. The fine people at Fashion To Figure provided the dress for me to review and it sat in my closet for two weeks before I got a chance to wear it, because I knew exactly where I wanted to wear it. I wore it to see Cirque du Solei. I wanted to be dressed up but still comfortable since I was going to be in a stadium for 3 hours. Honestly, it was perfect for that. It was super comfortable and non-binding (so important when sitting for long periods) and remained wrinkle free so I still looked great when I stood back up.

Pros:
  • Super-soft and comfortable
  • Well made
  • Wrinkle-free
  • Versatile style
  • * enough stretch to be forgiving, but not skin tight (I don’t know about you, but my weight fluctuates and I like clothing that can accommodate that)
Cons:
  • There is a side zipper and the zipper pull is at the very top under your arm and it poked me in the armpit all night. Not a deal breaker, but a little annoying.
  • It’s a little shorter than I like, but that’s a personal choice (I think it would be great for someone a little shorter than I am (5’6”) or for a junior or someone who likes to show their legs) and Rand definitely approved of the length.
Conclusion:

FTF provided me with this dress, so I think the real question always comes down to “Would I buy it if I had to spend my own money?” And I am honestly surprised to say yes. Originally, I was concerned that the dress might be cheap (always a concern for me when trying new plus size lines online) and it was not at all. The ponte knit was nice and thick without being too heavy, and everything felt well constructed. YAY!! I love finding new plus size stores. I had hoped that I would be able to wear this for work as well as play, but it’s too short for my office in the summer. However, in the winter, I can totally wear it with tights to the office.

This is the only piece I own from FTF, but I am very pleased with the quality, so I am going to add them to the places that I shop online. In fact, I’ve got my eye on this dress next:

So nice-looking! I will say only this: you may feel uncomfortable with the length, but I think it makes your legs looks longer and leaner. Just sayin'. :)

I thought this dress looked FABULOUS on you when you first posted the pic, and my opinion has not changed, you look gorgeous. That dress is so figure-flattering, and you look so chic with your big sunglasses, I really love this look. And I agree with Rand, length is perfect. How awesome to get such a great dress for free!!

I love this dress on you. If I had to buy it, I would it.

And don't you freakin hate those zippers under the arm.
