Bold

It looks like I am going to be starting a new job soon. I won't know for certain until I start, but I think it's going to be a more conservative environment than I have been in for the last two years. That means I'll need to wear more business attire than I have been wearing. So I went a little crazy with my outfit today. Gotta get the crazy out now while I still can.

Rand's Daily Outfit Assessment: "Bold." I'm not sure I totally like the final product, but it is really what I wanted to wear today, so I wore it. (Later...) "I don't think the pearls work." (I took them off while he was talking.) "No. You need a necklace. You just need one that is more Escher-esque so that it matches your skirt."

What I Wore That Was Bold:

2010-07-20 combo

  • skirt (Merona via Goodwill)
  • red T (Lane Bryant)
  • converse (Target)
  • pearls (via Goodwill)
What I Ate That Was All Home Cooked:

2010-07-20 food

  • breakfast: toast (Whitewheat) w/ egg, peach
  • lunch: whole wheat tortelini w/ pasta sauce
  • dinner: 4 oz steak, kale chips, 1/2 corn cob, red wine
  • dessert: skim milk, 2 cookies
What Rand and I Did at 6am:

2010-07-20 exercise

Rand found a new bike trail near our house, so we checked it out before he went to work. I loved the grafiti on this train trellis.

I think you look adorable. I'd wear sneakers to work if I could get away with it.

Yay for getting up for a bike ride so early! Isn't that hard to do? But then it feels SO great once it's done.

Congrats on the new job! Hopefully the new attire regulations will inspire you even more and end up being a fun challenge.

This is so fresh and cute! Also, I personally like the pearls with it. They are soft and blend in a bit with the graphic tee and add a nice juxtaposition withe the sneaks and bold skirt pattern. ♥ you, T!

I really like the concept. You wanted bold, you got bold! Takes confidence to pull it off and you got it. I'd def. leave the pearls, they take the outfit up a notch. Good work Tina!
I a newbie here, girls, please check out my blog. :) thank you

Awesome outfit, although I do agree that the pearls are not quite right. Do you have a necklace with some steel or a mix of silver and beads? You totally rock the graphic tee.

Love the 6am bike ride, good for you!

Congrats on the job, but boooooo! on the conservative outfits. Maybe you can gently break them in to...Tina Style. :)

Melissa - I must admit that I would prefer to exercise a little later in the day, but Rand goes to work really early and we ride together, so I get up at 6am. It usually takes a little while for my muscles to warm up, then I'm fine.

caramelcreme - thanks!

Rhianna - Rand is a crazy one!

Emily - thanks!

Suzanne - thanks!

Kimberly - Thanks! That's what I was thinking about the pearls too.

Very Chic Editor - thanks! And I'm checking out your blog right now!

Bea - thanks!

Sheila - You are my graphic T guru!
