How To Be a 50s Model

Casual Friday usually means jeans and a cute shirt for me. And when I'm not working, it usually means shorts or some really, really causal. But I had a couple of things that I needed to drop off with my employer, so I opted for a very comfortable but more dressed up look.

Rand's Daily Outfit Assessment: "You look like a 50s housewife. In fact, you look like you should be modeling a washing machine in 50s ads."

We couldn't get a good angle on our washing machine, so here I am modeling the fridge for you instead. Ha. Rand really makes me laugh.

What I Wore While Modeling Appliances:

2010-07-23 combo
  • dress (Target)
  • scarf (borrowed from Kimberly)
  • heels (Steve Madden)
  • artist's palette brooch (hand-me-down from a friend)

That's fantastic! I love those colors together and the scarf really pops as the lone pattern.

Awesome silhouette on you and I am dying over those shoes! Love them!

I have that dress, but I have never worn it so simply. I'll have to file this outfit away for future reference. You look great!

You are adorable and your hubby is so funny!!

I LOVE 50's style - I was just thinking as I did laundry this morning that I would love to have a house dress and wear it with pearls and heels as I do chores. I think that would make it so much more fun!

The brooch is marvelous!! Also, that scarf is perfectly paired with that dress and shoes.

P.S. You can work a fridge like no other!
