Clothes in a Box

It's almost time to move into our new house, so packing is in full effect. And things aren't going to get unpacked when we get into the new house b/c there is still construction going on. We don't want to get construction dust on everything we own, plus there isn't space to put most things until the construction is complete.
(This is what the master closet currently looks like-------------->
FYI, that's the kitchen you can see. Both the kitchen and closet and involved in the remodel.)

So what to do with all my clothes?

I decided that I would try to leave out enough items that I could just mix and match until I once again have a closet. I guess really it's a capsule challenge of undetermined length. So, I might be wearing the same things for a week (easy) or for a month (a little more of a challenge). I don't know if I'll have access to all my accessories or if I'll be wearing the same 2 pairs of shoes. Right now most of my clothes are packed, but none of my accessories are. So I have at least a couple of days with some additional flare options.

Construction Capsule Day 1
What I Wore While Confirming The New Floorplan:

2010-08-23 combo
  • purple dress (Old Navy)
  • grey patent pumps (Steve Madden)
  • multi-colored necklace (Dana Buchman via Kohls)
  • copper lizard cuff (gift from when I was about 14)

Wow- what a challenging move! I hope it goes quickly, and that you are very soon reunited with all your clothes/accessories. Love the necklace you're wearing here.

You look fantastic - love every aspect of that outfit!!! I really need to check out Old Navy more often - we live in such a college town that in my head I think it's for 20-year-olds with no hips. Cute, cute dress!

You should check out Kendi Everyday (http://kendieveryday.blogspot.com/) for advice on how to stay fabulous and use fewer items in your closet. She recently did a 30 items for 30 days (including everything but accessories). She gives good round ups and advice on what is best for times when you have a limited wardrobe.

Good luck with the move and the remodel :-)

Oh that necklace is fantastic! I love it! What a great way to add some flair to a simple dress. Which, by the way, looks amazing on you. And I love the shoes.

Good luck with the move! Be safe and also good luck with the capsule challenge! Hopefully it'll be for a shorter time than anticipated.
