I also use clear glass containers for my hair accessories, but since I love love love antique glass, I use lidded candy dishes, creamer pitchers and sugar bowls on my vanity. They are decorative as well as useful.
I also have a crystal salt dipper filled with the rubber stops for french hook earrings so that when I grab a pair of earrings, I can just slide them in and pull the stoppers from the little pile in the salter and never worry when I lose a stopper - I have tons!

And its a great example of putting the "REUSE" part of "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" into practice!
