CLE Time

As a lawyer, I'm required to complete a certain number of hours of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) each year. The deadline is always on your birthday, and mine is coming up in less than 5 days. For the first time since I became a lawyer, I found myself with a shortfall rather than a surplus of hours. I like to save my money for things like shoes and kitchens and closets, so I searched in the internet until I found some free online classes. I've been listening to classes about intellectual property law all day long while I work. Amazingly, some of it is pretty interesting, especially a discussion about the lawsuit between Google and Viacom about You Tube and copyright infringement. Hey, I use You Tube! But none of my stuff infringes. :)

What I Wore While Listening To CLEs:

2010-10-07 combo
  • black slacks (Lane Bryant)
  • pink lace cami (Old Navy)
  • floral cardi (Target)
  • fushia flats (Target)
  • red glass necklace (??)
  • red glass earrings (street vendor in Austin)
What I Ate That Was Tough:
2010-10-07 food
  • breakfast: healthy pear muffins, coffee, apple
  • lunch: pub salad
  • dinner: beef tips, potatos, mixed veggies, butternut squash

I've been loving the Diet Gourmet, but tonight's dinner was really really tough out of the microwave. I almost couldn't swallow the beef b/c no matter how much I chewed it never got any smaller!

Love those fuschia flats! I'm a registered nurse and while Oregon licensure doesn't require continuing ed to maintain your license, I always take advantage of any free classes I can find online(or employer paid) because as a professional it's a good thing to do! Sorry your dinner was tough...looks good!

Intellectual property law is such an interesting area! (I do a lot of legal type stuff in my current job)

I spent a few minutes trying to figure out what your dinner was. Chocolate bon bons in chocolate sauce? Hee! I see you have your priorities, though - wine!

Where did you find this free CLE??? Is it applicable only for Texas?? I use law.com and they always have some kind of sale so I can get 12 VA CLE credits for 100 bux, but if I could get it for free, that's even better.

Love those flats. You give me shoe envy every time I visit!

I agree, intellectual property law is quite interesting. I'm not a lawyer, but in the communications industry, we come across this quite often.

My BF is studying to be a paralegal, and that is specifically the area that he is most interested in. I hope that you are enjoying your classes.
(And happy belated birthday! I hope that you are doing well, since we haven't seen you around for a while.)

I love your pretty cardi!
