To Frump or Not To Frump?

I really liked this dress when I saw it online, but when I tried it on it was way too big and I I thought it looked really frumpy. So it went back into the box to be returned. I am really bad about returning thing. At any given time I have 3 boxes of things that need to be return, but they almost never make it to the post office. I hate the post office. Anayway, this dress has been sitting in it's box for almost a year. I tried it on again. Rand really liked it, so I wore it to work. I got a lot of compliments on it, but I still think it's a little frumpy. I do love the colors though. What do you think? Be honest.

What I Wore That May or May Not Be Frumpy:

2010-11-03 combo
  • dress (Avenue)
  • purple cardi (Target)
  • black boots (Cloudwalkers via Avenue)
  • purple earrings (?)
  • feather headband (Target)
  • tuquoise necklace (Lane Bryant)
  • wet hair (late for work)

I don't know how it looks alone, but the way you styled it works. Not frumpy at all. In fact, I think it flatters your curves on the bottom half.

With this cardi, it is safely in the "not frumpy" category!

Also, I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one who struggles with getting the returns to the post office! But I have to admit that a few of my now favorites spent their early life sitting in a box waiting to be returned. Give this dress a few tries, you might be surprised how much you end up liking it!

The colors work for you! The purple contrast brings out the turquoise. The cardigan and the boots are styled just right... So NOT frumpy!

I don't think anything in those colors could really be frumpy. And you have definitely styled it very unfrumpily :o) Looks great!

Frump-free; you look great! Could be the coy smile thought that's really selling the look. :)

Just jumping on the bandwagon to say you look great! And from what I can tell, the fit looks good. You have all the perfect accessories for it, so wear it with pride!

I don't think it looks frumpy at all!! Maybe it looked that way without a cardi on, but the way you have it styled looks very nice. I say it's a keeper!!

It doesn't read as frumy to me at all - especially not when you've got something cinching in your top half. Plus, the colors are great with your complexion!

I adore this outfit and think you look fantastic in it! The color combos, the length, the fit of the cardigan - you look great, Tina!

Not frumpy at all. Love it! I think a wide belt fixes everything, anyway. :)
