Dotty and Spotty

I decided to try a little mild pattern mixing today: a white sweater with large black polka dots worn with a black skirt with tiny white polka dots. I think it worked pretty well.

Rand's Daily Outfit Assessment: "You're spotty. And dotty." Well, you can't argue with that. LOL

Check out my new fence. We had it installed on my first day of unemployment. Yikes! There's nothing like dropping a huge chunk of change on something as soon as 1/2 of your household income goes away. Luckily, we'd been saving money for a fence for the last 6 months, so we already had most of it set aside. We decided to go ahead and have it installed as planned b/c our old one was literally falling down and a group of lovely people has been going into backyards in our neighborhood, kicking back doors in, and robbing houses. Obviously a fence isn't going to keep someone out who really wants to get in, but an 8' obstacle might make them think twice about trying it at our house. And now we can finally let the cats out in the backyard again without them running away. So really, it's a winning situation. That's right, #winning.

What I Wore In Front of a Shiny, New Fence:

2011-11-22 combo

  • magenta long-sleeve T (Target via Goodwill)
  • polka dot sweater (Lane Bryant)
  • polka dot skirt (via Goodwill)
  • magenta flats (Target)
  • purse (vintage, via Goodwill)
  • earrings (??)
  • flower pin (off a City Chic skirt)
  • belt (off an old dress)
  • fence (Kirkwood Fence & Deck)*
* No, I'm not shilling for them, but they did a kick-ass job and the fence is in the photo too. :)
