Vacation Wear: Corn Maze

Ever since I first heard of them, I've always wanted to go to a corn maze. Sadly, they do not exist in Texas as far as I know. My sister reminded me that there was one only about 1/2 hour from her house, so on my last day in Illinois we headed to Tanner's Orchard. 

There were actually two mazes and inside each maze were checkpoints with clues to solve a "farmyard murder mystery." I am happy to report that we did not get lost and we solved the murder. (The pig did it. LOL)

To celebrate our stunning maze and murder mystery solving skills, we topped off the day with caramel apples. Delish.

Vacation Wear: East Peoria, Illinois

While I was blowdrying my hair in my sister's bathroom, I peeked into her closet and saw this gorgeous scarf hanging there. The only accessory I brought with me for my week-long trip was a single pair of earrings, so begged her to let me steal her scarf for the day. It was the perfect match for my purple top and I loved how it evoked the beautiful Fall colors that are everywhere. We don't really get any changing leaf colors in Dallas, so it's a real pleasure to see all the amazing colors all over Peoria.

What I Wore In Peoria:

NY Style

I don't know about you, but I think it's nice to get a peek into everyone's casual weekend wear, so I decided when it started snowing that I had to go take outfit pics in it.

What I Wore in the NY Snow:

• brown cashmere long sleeve sweater (Old Navy) *
• brown sleeveless cardi (Target)
• jeans (Gap)
• cream tennies (Sketchers)
• wooden brooch (via Goodwill)
• orange earrings (??)

* I LOVE this sweater. I have it in 3 colors and Maria has it in 3 other colors. I wish I had bought it in every color they had but that was a couple of years ago, so it's too late now.

What I Ate Because You Have To In NY:

• flagel sandwich (FLat bAGEL)
• V8

Do Not Spit on the Floor

Rand and I dropped by his parents house for the night on our way out of town. They live in east Texas so as you can see, there are tons of beautiful trees on their property.

Rand's Mom's Daily Outfit Assessment: "You look so beautiful. Doesn't she look beautiful, Randall." I like Rand's mom. Can you tell why? hehe. Seriously, she's sweet.

After leaving their house, we headed to Jefferson, Tx. This sign was on display in the Jefferson Museum. I'm pretty sure it's a historical sign, not a current rule. Too funny.

What I Wore While Not Spitting on the Floor:

• blue/tan scarf (Ross)
• brass/tan bell necklace, yes I made tinkling noises all day (thrifted Goodwill)

What I Ate While Trying the Local Cuisine:

• breakfast: cream cheese filled pretzel (Schwann's)
• lunch: Texas chili cornbread sandwich and broccoli salad (Kitt's Kornbread Sandwich & Pie Bar)
• snack: cherry pie (Kitt's again)
• dinner: pate, bread, ahi tuna w/ mango salsa, spinach, wine (Stillwater Inn)
