Wild Friday

When I got home from work, Rand met me on the porch with a Wild Blue lager. It was just what the doctor ordered. I love this beer. Normally I drink belgium ales, but this beer is super yummy.

We were getting attacked by the mosquitos on the porch, so we moved it inside. That led to South Park.

I had originally picked out this outfit to wear on Friday of my Red Week, but since I had to wear a suit, this got put on hold. But I have been wanting to wear it ever since I picked it out.

What I Wore While Drinking Wild Blue:

  • denim pencil skirt (Target) *
  • white tuxedo shirt (Tommy Hilfiger)
  • red suspenders (thrifted, Goodwill)
  • red/animal print pony hair mules (VAN ELi)
  • red bead necklace (?? Ross?)
  • bronze earrings (Target)
  • Drama Queen pint glass (from a beer tasting)

* this is too big now too. UGH. I know I should be happy to that I am smaller, but I just got this skirt a month ago and I love it. FARKLE! Does anyone have any suggestions of places to sell/trade/buy plus size clothing? I am especially interested in swapping, but I've only seen small clothing on the swap sites I have looked at. If you know of any swaps for plus sizes, I would love to hear about it.

What I Ate At 10 PM:
Neigher Rand nor I were hungry for dinner...until about 9:50 pm. So we hopped in a car and drove to Burger House. Where I consumed chicken fingers, a cherry shake, and split fries with Rand. Maybe I am trying to eat my way back into my skirts?

Seriously, this has to stop. Tomorrow we are going to go to the grocery store, and stock up the pantry so that there is no excuse for not cooking at home, even if we decide we don't want to put forth any effort.

Love your necklace, love your shoes, want the beer, and love this outfit - you look too cute.

I'm bad about eating late like that too. Last night I wasn't hungry at dinner time but I sure as hell made nachos at midnight. What the hell??

There is always the option of getting them altered. Usually its only like $5-7 per alteration. At least you would get good usage out of the new skirt.

I've been doing "Fatshion" Swap on Flickr. There are periods of inactivity but then it picks back up: http://www.flickr.com/groups/fatshionswap/

Love those shoes! It is both exciting and sad about the skirt- it's very cute!

Blueberry beer, eh? I've had blueberry wine, but have always been wary of fruity beers. Perhaps we'll give one a try this summer!

Ally - Ugh. I hate it when I do that. It is comforting to know I'm not the only one.

Candice & Beth - Thanks for the suggestions. I need to go to the tailor to get some things hemmed, so I'll look into the price of alterations. And I am very excited about the plus size swap. I hope it's in an active period.

Leesa - Thanks! They are pretty old.

Jess - it has a very strong fruit flavor, so it may not be your cup of tea. I only drink a few select types of beers on a regular basis, but I really like a wide variety. Be careful if you try this one - it's 8% alcohol.

Charlotte - ha! I've been hoping someone would tag me with this. It give me an excuse to go through old photos.

super cuteness!!! love the look of suspenders and per usual, adore your shoes. after reading that you have an entire wall in your closet devoted to your shoes, it gave me pause. i DO own a house. no one else lives with me. perhaps i need to commandeer another closet and create a shoe shrine of my own!!! ahhhh yesssss!

eednic - my "closet" is actually a converted sun porch, so I approve of commandeering as much space as you need. hmm...maybe I need to do a post about my closet. I love it so.

I love your suspenders, but not so much the Wild Blue (too sweet for me!)

I hope you get a good swap for your skirt!

Kasmira - Thanks! It is quite sweet, but I've got a major sweet tooth, so maybe that's why I like it.

Don't beat yourself up over one bad day!

I had the most amazing denim skirt when I was a size 16. It was a Mac & Jac and it had gold/orange embroidered paisleys on the front corner and on the back pocket. And like you, I bought it only a month before I started losing weight (which would be...3 years ago). It was so sad to let it go - I gave it away to a good friend, who then lost weight and she gave it away. I keep watching in consignment stores for one in my "now" size to show up.
