Parking Garages Are a PIA

For some unknown reason, I spent over 20 minutes in a long line of cars trying to exit the parking garage after work. You only have 15 minutes from the time you pay (as you walk to your car) to exit the garage; otherwise you have to pay extra. I was not happy about forking over an extra $2 just for sitting in traffic.

What I Wore While Being Stuck in the Parking Garage FOREVER:

  • white tank and peasant blouse (Sonoma via Kohl's)
  • skirt (Kmart)
  • vest (Lane Bryant)
  • taupe pearl necklaces (thrifted, local charity shop)
  • taupe pearl necklace, worn as bracelet (thrifted, local charity shop)
  • grey patent heels (Steve Madden)
  • tan hobo purse (thrifted, Goodwill) *

* this purse still had a note in one of the pockets. It looked like it was between some high school girls. Drama was definitely included. I considered it an added bonus.

Breakfast/Lunch for the Week:

  • 1/2 c Fiber One
  • 1 c Almond Breeze, unsweetened original
  • 2 oz blueberries
  • 2 oz raspberries
  • 1 medium banana
  • 1 buddig sandwich on light bread
  • 1.5 c mixed raw veggies
  • 20 soy crisps
  • 1 small fuji apple

What I Ate While Still Not Having a Stove:

I planned our menu and grocery shopping around the expectation that we would have our stove replaced today. I won't get into the details, but did not happen. Hence the pizza. I won't lie; I really wanted it. And I ate too much of it.

What I Did for Exercise:

I managed to get up and walk again this morning. That's 4 out of the last 5 days. I walked a mile before work, and then a half mile at lunch. Not too shabby. Maybe next week I'll get 1.5 miles in before work.

Total for the Day: 2240 calories, 7 glasses of water, 1.5 miles walking

Hi Tina! Thanks for all your nice thoughts and comments on my blog! Thanks also for discussing nutrition- I love fashion blogs that also inspire other things- and your intellect and health consciousness are truly inspirational (not to mention your fab style)!

Hi Tina... I've been reading your blog for a bit, but I don't think I've ever commented. I must say, this is possibly the most flattering outfit I've seen posted on here. I don't know why that is... maybe the proportions of the vest/skirt or the angle of the camera, but it looks great!

Rachel - thanks so much! I was very happy with how this turned out. usually when I wear this vest I think I look like a cater-waiter, but I didn't feel that way this time.

igetdressed - thanks! You've got a great blog! I'm not sure how many of my readers actually read all the way down through my food, but it certianly helps me be accountable (to my sister, who DOES read).

elizabeth - Wow, thanks! Having a tall boyfriend to take the flattering down-angle shots probably helps. :)

Coco - you are too sweet. I just bought this skirt from Kmart. And it was on sale. I think I paid $12? You should see if they have it in your size. I love it when people have the same items that I do, then I get to see how their styling is differnt from mine. Fascinating.

I agree! The outfit is outstanding! It proportioned right or something because it seriously makes you look 10-15 lbs lighter. Very flattering - HOT TAMALE!!!

And really? They made you pay extra money just because you were stuck in traffic...lame!

Love the vest, and your hair looks especially fabulous.

I would have been really annoyed about being stuck in traffic in the parking garage and having to pay extra. Depending on my mood I probably would have argued with the attendant about having to pay the extra $2 :)

Don't parking garages suck? On a brighter note, I love your pearls - I've been looking for a strand in that color lately - gorgeous!

OMG, I was stuck in a parking garage the other day for 17 minutes - no radio and no cell service. I thought I was going to die in the silence.
As for your outfit - ditto to all of the wonderful things the ladies have said above. It is a great outfit and your hair looks super cute!

eednic - thanks!

Thanks, Stace. Yep, it was lame, but there is no "they", there is just a machine.

Goober - thanks. Trust me, I would have argued if there had been someone to argue with. But this is an unmanned machine that just sucks up your ticket and tells you how much you owe. You pay at the entrance to the garage and then give your ticket to another machine at the vehicle exit. If it's been longer than 15 since you got your ticket stamped, the second machine demands more money before it will raise the bar for you to leave.

Diana - the taupe really is a nice change from regular pearls. I wish I could tell you that I got them at Target and to go get a set for yourself, but I picked them up at a thrift shop, and they're at least 30 years old, I think.

Kimberly - That sucks. I at least had both radio and cell phone service. Although if memory serves, the radio was mostly all commercials at the time.

Erin - You are def too hot for your computer. I'll have to use that excuse next time mine overheats too.

Hannah - Thank you very much. As you can tell from my blog, I am trying to lose weight, so it's always nice to hear that I look skinny. Not offensive at all.

This is soooo flattering on you! I also have to admit I'm a sucker for fitted vests. XOXO, MissAmy

Tina said...

Thanks, MissAmy. I have a hard time finding ones that fit, so I snatch them up when I do!

This outfit is so figure-flattering!!! That vest HAS to be your go-to item!! You look amazing! And good job on breakfast/lunch! I eat the worst for lunch....just whatever I can make up in the morning when I am rushed!

Elaine - thanks! I have to make my breakfast and lunch for the entire work week on Sundays otherwise I eat garbage during the week. So, yep, I make 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches all on Friday. And I eat the same thing for the entire week. It's the only way I manage to stay on track.
