Oh...Deer!

I adore these shoes. I hate these shoes. They're Oh Deer! brand shoes and they are so pretty, and well made and even have a lovely red sole. They are the height of fashion for bootties when I bought them and I bought them on sale. How can you go wrong? Sadly, I think the days of me being able to walk around in 4 inch heels are gone. These have been languishing in my closet for over a year. I think I've worn them 3 times total. I finally thought to myself "Well, mostly I just sit at my desk all day long, so I should really wear them." WRONG! After hobbling from the parking garage (which is directly across the street, so I hardly did any walking), I sat down and took them off and spent the rest of the day in my stocking feet. So professional I am.

So if any of you wear a size 8 and are still capable of walking in skyhigh shoes, let me know. We might be able to work out something of a trade. Otherwise I'll just donate them or stash them away for next years swap*, but I would rather they go another fashion girl instead of sitting in Goodwill.

*Erin, are we gonna try to do another swap this year??

Yes, I think we can do that. I would have said no the day after, ahahahaha. But I can think about it now.

They do look amazing on you. I know what you mean though. I was about ready to die by the time I got home yesterday after 12 hours in heels. DIE.

Sister, I think my days of badass heels are over too. I find myself grabbing flats and low heels 80% of the time. I'm blaming the weather and slick sidewalks, but we all know the truth.

Man oh man, do I wish I wore an 8 - those are some seriously hot shoes, lady. Unfortunately my size 9'ers can't even think about squeezing into them.

That dress is awesome, btw. Extra bonus for it being thrifted!!

i always, always, ALWAYS wear "comfy shoes" for getting into + out of the office and carry my "cute shoes" in my bad. no matter how much i think a pair of heels is walkable, they never are for me.

and lady, your legs look AMAZING in this photo! looks like someones walking is paying off. ;)

I'll tell you what. I will swap you my bicycle belt. Whaddayasay?

P.S. You look great in them. Sure you don't want to suffer for fashion? LOL

Hi, new to your blog but I have gone back and read a good portion of the archives. I had a question about the alternative bagels that you eat. What store are you buying them from or, are you purchasing them online?

The shoes are hot but I can't tolerate 4" heels anymore either!

Love those shoes, bummer they are so painful. I can only manage super high heels because I wear them only in court, when I'm in the office or walking to my car I'm all about flats.

Oh, how sad the shoes are too high! I have a couple that are just a half-inch too much, but I still keep them in rotation sometimes because they are too pretty to give up on.

Too bad about the shoes - and they're too small for my monster feet! I am still okay with heels, but I'm starting to feel the effects of the really high ones the next day. *sigh*

You're eating so good! Well done! You'll be in the orange skirt in no time. :)

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to steel those shoes from you. Maybe in exchange for the fun color-y heels I gave you a few months ago?? :)

Erin - excellent. I'll start a swap box with stuff that I no longer wear. By the fall it should be full again.

Ally - I'm glad I'm not the only one. I LOVE the fact that flats are still in fashion.

Kimberly - thanks!

evandine - thanks! And you are totally smart by carrying your heels. I should start doing that.

BBM - thanks!

MissAmy - great offer! Maria reminded me that she gave me some great shoes a few weeks ago, and she requested these in exchange. So I'm handing them off to her. Sorry!

Julie - I get them at Newflower Market, which is a small grocery store here that sells organics, etc. I've actually also gotten them at our local grocery liquidators. YOu can purchase them online too. They are from a company called Western Bagel. I love them!!

Heather - I would be afraid to wear heels this high in court. What if I fell over and the judge laughed a me? LOL

Kristin - that's how these shoes have stayed in my closet for the lat two years, but I"ve decided to just give up.

Totally inspired - thanks so much!

Sheila - I have hopes that as I lose some weight that I will be able to wear my high heels a little more comfortably. Less weight on the balls of my feel would have to help!

Maria - DEAL!
