$10 Shopping Restriction - Week 3

Week 3 was a great shopping week for me. I didn't even spend my entire $10, which means that next week, I have a little extra! Whoo hoo!

What I Spent My $10 On:

• super long strand of faux pearls (via Goodwill)
• seashell brooch (via Goodwill)
• houndstooth skirt (Target via Goodwill)
• red dress (Lane Bryant via Goodwill)

What Other People Got With Their $10

Stacy scored a major coup. She bought a pair of Clarks Artisan Leather Slingbacks for $8! These shoes are normall $90, but then they were on sale for $60, plus she had a 20% coupon and a punch card good for $40 off. Nice score, Stacy!

Heidi followed Sara's lead from last week and picked up some fashion for her hair. She bought Scunci Upzing from Walgreens.

Sara of Be Styled picked up a printed tank from Pac Sun for $5.


Loretta stayed extra strong and spent nothing so that she would have $20 to spend next week. Way to go!

$10 Shopping Results - Week 2

I tried to mix it up this week by hitting both retail stores and thrift stores in search of ways to spend my $10. First I went to a bunch of thrift stores and not very much caught my eye, until I came across this great looking melon colored skirt - for $1!!! Now, that's a price I can live with. Then I ran into Avenue to return some things. While I was there, I started picking through this bowl of rings they keep on the counter. I fell in love with this spider ring. Rand thought it was hideous, but I am in love. It had to be mine. And the price was perfect. Now, I wondered if I should even count the ring as a purchase, since I paid for it with store credit. But I decided to go ahead and consider it a purchase. So really, this week I returned $25 worth of merchandise and bought $10. I actually "earned" $15 this week. LOL

What I Bought With My $10:

• spider ring (Avenue) $9
• melon skirt (thrifted) $1

What Other People Bought With Their $10:

Heidi picked up two pairs of pants online (she got them in black). Man, this girl can shop! I haven't heard back from her yet about where she is getting such great deals.

Sara went to Old Navy again (a haven for clearance shopping!) and picked upsome spin pins to boot. I want some of those!!

Melange4D made her own necklace and earrings set for $10 in supplies. Skills!

And we don't have a picture, but Loretta hit the thrift stores and scored a great summer dress and two tops, all for $10. Way to go!

$10 Shopping Results - Week 1

What did you do with your week 1 $10? Did you buy one item from a retail store? Or a couple of brand new items at a thrift store? Or did you go hog-wild at multiple thrift stores and come home with a whole bag of gently used items?

What Everyone Spent Their $10 On:

Kimberly of Fab Finds Under $50 headed to her local Goodwill and scored 3 brand new pieces that Target donated to Goodwill. Some of them are still for sale at full price on Target's website. She went a tiny bit over the $10 restriction, but it's the spirit of the challenge not the exact dollar amount spent that counts!

Sara of Bombshell Beauty headed to Old Navy equipped with a coupon. She scored this great blue dress for $10.49. It's perfect for summer.

Christina of Randomness, a la Mode thrifted two pairs of shoes for $5 each. Those nude flats are going to be so useful all summer long!

$10 Shopping Restriction

After coming back from the Lane Bryant Blogger Conference, I found myself going a little shopping crazy. And I was not the only one. Sara of Bombshell Beauty and I were lamenting to each other about all the damage we were doing to out wallets, when, genius that she is, she suggested that we do a shopping ban for the month of July. As a lawyer I'm always trying to get a better deal for my client - me, this time - so you know I couldn't take the first offer. I had to negotiate. LOL. I remembered that Sal of Already Pretty had put herself on a $10 restricton for awhile and I really enjoyed reading about her adventures in making that money stretch. So we settled on a $10 per week spending limit, plus I'm allowed to spend money on new shorts b/c I had to return the ones I just bought and a girl needs shorts in the summer.

So...are any of you game to join Sara and I as we see how far we can stretch $10?
