WW Comes A-Calling

Wedding planning is in full swing, and some of it is definitely more fun than other things. Having the caterer set a huge plate of yummy Tex-Mex food in front you of counts a fun in my book!

What I Wore While Having a Tasting With the Caterer:

  • aqua T (Old Navy)
  • pink side tie lace blouse (Lane Bryant)
  • jeans (l.e.i.)
  • madras wedges (Target)
  • bracelet (thrifted, Goodwill)
  • earrings & necklace (Ross)
What I Did Thanks to Sheila:

Sheila is one of my favorite bloggers. If you don't know her, she posts daily outfits that are fab. And mixed in with her commentary are little nuggets about her life. One such nugget was that she still attends Weight Watchers meetings after having lost a lot of weight. Another nugget? She walks to her meetings. She inspired me. I've been toying with the idea of joining WW, so I did it. And I walked there! It's about 3 miles round trip. Yay me! Yay Sheila!

So my first WW meeting was okay. Their scale is different from mine (shocking, I know) and I didn't even bother to take of my running shoes to weigh in. I figure if I start out with my shoes on, then I can just keep doing it that way and the weight changes will be accurate. And that way I don't have to eff with my shoes. Much easier. Although I did get some odd looks from the other people weighing in.

So here is what their scale said I weighed...224.2. So let's start this. My goal this week: work out 4-5 days and track my points/calories. I've been tracking my calories on The Daily Plate, which I love and is so much more user friendly than the WW site, so it's going to be a challenge to get used to the new system.

Good for you for getting started with WW. It is such a smart program! I've never joined but when I slide into bad eating habits I like to use the points tracking system for a few months until I get into the habit of eating well again. I plan to do this in a week for the summer.

Did I miss it when you shared when your wedding will actually be? (Most of my friends have had either 1 year or 6 month engagements, which each pose their own advantages and challenges as far as planning goes.)

Your jewelry is so cute!

I love the layering on the lace - what a great color combo! Also, congrats on WW. I did it for over a year & lost a lot of weight. You'll do great - it seems that you're really good at sticking to things & it's a pretty painless way to lose :) XOXO, MissAmy

I'm behind the times terribly; I didn't realize you're getting married. Congratulations and I'm looking forward to planning updates!
I've never been to a WW meeting but I am trying to follow their points thingy on my own. It worked for me before but my weight has crept up a bit again in the last year or so. Thanks to your recommendation, I really enjoyed DietGirl's book.

Welcome to WW land! I like it- I feel like it takes some of the responsibility off my shoulders as far as just how much I should be eating (otehr than just going with 'less'!).

Love all the blue- especially those cute shoes! I somehow managed to miss out on any tastings when planning my wedding, so I'm always jealous when people talk about having them!

Aw, thank you so much for the props, Tina! You are too sweet.

I am so proud of you for joining WW (I say that WW is my AA - I'm addicted to food). The most important thing is to keep going to meetings - and walking is a great way to get there!

I was down a pound this week after knuckling down and getting back to tracking (I hate tracking, but I know it works). You can do it!

Kari - I've been counting my calories, so I don't think that will be too different, but I'm hoping the accountability of meetings will help keep me on track (since this blog doesn't seem to be. ha!). The wedding is scheduled for April, so we're having a 9 month engagement.

eednic & HoneyBunches - thanks! They're great summer shoes. I wore them so much last year that they've already been to the shoe doctor once.

MissAmy - thanks! And congrats to you for losing weight. It's so hard. I love food. :)

Struggler - yep! We got engaged about 3 weeks ago. I'm glad you enjoyed the DietGirl book. She is so damn funny, it makes me feel like I just want to be her friend. LOL.

Jess - Are you in WW too? I think that this tasting was the only one we are going to get. We pretty much knew who we wanted, so we aren't even meeting with any other caterers. Although, there has been jokes about setting up meeting just for the free food. LOL.

Milly - thanks!

Sheila - well you deserve props! Congrats on being down a pound.
